Christmas Eve we spent with the Lindstroms, just hanging out and playing with our new toys which included..... CASTLE BOARDS! If you don't know what those are you are missing out. The ones my father-in-law made are similar to these but includes a two story castle! I've been asking for two years for them and was way more excited than any of the grandchildren when I saw them!
Christmas morning Levi was so concerned about making sure Santa ate his milk and cookie that he missed the bike with big red bow under the tree- so much for that 'picture perfect' moment! But this was the first Christmas that we were really able to incorporate the three gift tradition {representing the three wise-men and their gifts, but we do something you want, need, and a gift of love/something hand made} and it was pretty cool to see that everything (minus the bikes) we hand made this year!
A few days after Christmas we went to Ocean Shores for our 5year anniversary but that needs it's own post with pictures.
New Year's Eve we went with the Lindstroms to Zoo Lights and then home for early bed.... it was an exhausting end of the year and as we were falling asleep Devin said in Japan they celebrate the sun rising on the new year not the midnight countdown... with little ones that wake before the sun I'm thinking we might adopt this tradition! :-)
