Bb Week

Day One: Bears and Blueberries
We read Blueberries for Sal by Robert McCloskey (a favorite)

rolled a dice to see how many 'blueberries' we got to pick,

and walked like a bear to take the 'blueberries' to the pail,

and then we picked real blueberries- where the boys called each other 'Little Bear' so cute!- and arranged them by size, smallest to largest.

We also acted out We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Micheal Rosen via this video and did bear hunt line tracers. We started at the house went straight to the grass, curved to the river, zigzagged to the mud, over and down to the forest, curved to the snow storm, diagonal to the cave, and straight into a bear!

Day Two: Birds
We read Birds by Kevin Henkes (great for colors, and sizes)

It inspired us organized birds according to their size, small, medium, large, and to do a picture sequence, and to paint what the sky would look like if birds painted with their tail feathers,

While our paintings dried we gathered sticks and grass for nests,
and make wings by tying strips of garbage bags to our arms and fly around finding out capital and lowercase Bb nests.
