Sweet {sugar cookie} Moments

Sugar mixed.

Flour creating white clouds everywhere.

X-O-X-O. hearts. L-O-V-E.

Two year old hands.

Giggles.

More and more our days are filled with 'let me do it myself' because he can and does! Valentine's Day he skipped his nap {more common than not now days} and while Owen snoozed in his swing nearby we spent some much needed 'Mommy and Levi' time... ending with both of us dusted in flour, sitting on the kitchen floor, snuggling, and giggling.

Our Favorite Sugar Cookie Recipe

6 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
1 3/4 cups, plus 1 Tbs sugar
--Mix, then cut in--
2 cups shortening

--mix together, then add to above mixture--
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup water

--mix together, then add to above mixture--

2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla

Mold with hands and roll out 1/4in thick on floured surface
Cut into desired shapes and place on greased cookie sheet
Bake at 350 for 7-10minutes
{freeze extra cooked cookies}
