Fine Motor Skills

Once a month we have a Parents as Teachers volunteer come and do activities with the boys to see how they are doing developmentally. Basically she comes and plays games with them and gives me ideas of things to do- and it's FREE!

Last time she came she mentioned Levi's fine motor skills and how we need to 'beef it up'. I about died!!! What??? I broke out the beads and the string... the last thing Levi wanted to do was make a necklace! AHHH! I know no other way of working on fine motor skills- this boy thing is getting more complicated!

I shared my concern with Devin. He laughed and said, 'ya, he's a boy so what?', and with a third grade teacher who said, 'he will just have sloppy handwriting.'

Any ideas of fine-motor activities that BOYS would like- let me know! in the mean time sloppy hand writing is in our future!
