I Have Been Blessed...

... with so much more than I deserve {http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptkWYhX79N8 }

The 'spotlight' has been on me, well technically my leg, for the past little while, and although I in no way demean the blessing it is that I am walking, none the less even here, I want to take this post to tell you a little about the blessings that have fit perfectly into our life via Devin's schooling.

We recently received an email from the University (haha! it makes it sound cooler) that students will no longer be able to receive Pell Grants (ie free government money for school) for a third semester or off track semester (ie if you are a FastGrand (year round) student you now have to pay for one out of the three semesters). This would have put a dent in our financial situation as Devin planned to take classes this Fall, his off track/third semester. HOWEVER, Devin is set to graduate in two semesters... TWO! Fall/Winter. So although his track is technically Winter/Summer, he will be attending Fall/Winter and be done before summer starts. ie We are getting a Pell Grant for his off-track semester (even though it's no longer allowed) because he will only require two semesters worth of Pell Grants before graduating (the allowed amount- understanding that if he again decides to continue with school we will have to pay Summer tuition). LUCKY US.

But then we discovered due to a misunderstanding Devin was NOT able to get on FastGrad this year (ie attend the Fall Semester as he is assigned the Winter/Summer). We decided he would take night classes and get in as many credits as he could and possibly find a day-job. HOWEVER, he was later informed of a NEW 'program' the University was offering. Days before the semester begins (as in the Friday before, when classes start Monday- talk about last minute planning!) students are now allowed to add any 300-400 level class that has open seats. And guess what level classes our soon to graduate Devin needs... 400 level. LUCKY US.

SO, to sum it up, as I'm sure it may be a little confusing, Devin is signed up for all his needed classes this semester, is set to graduate at the end of next, and all at no cost to us. We definitely are more than lucky, we are BLESSED.
