Levi's Backpack

For Levi's gift of Love we made a backpack.... how to make such a backpack:

Find fabric
Cut a pattern out of paper
Cut fabric out using pattern
Realize that it is going to be too small
Find a pair of your husband's old jeans and a pair of shoelaces
Throw out the pattern and cut out a pant leg
Iron, sew, and rip out seams to start over
Let your frustration out by ripping off a belt loop, pant tag, and small pocket- these will come in handy later
Iron, sew, cut, sew, tie, zip, sew.... more seam ripping, more sewing
Hold up finished product and laugh at the lopsidedness of it!
Complete! Your very first backpack, for a toddler (luckily), completely patternless, and completely your crazy creation!
The little tag that wraps around the side is the tag from the back of Devin's jeans that I cut- I stole the idea from a friend- now Levi will know where most of the materials came from.
